Paddle is a Merchant of Record (MoR) - a company that handles billing, tax compliance, and payment processing on behalf of software businesses. When you subscribe to fastforex.io, Paddle is the entity that collects payment, issues your receipts and invoices, and remits taxes to the relevant authorities in your country.
Paddle is trusted by thousands of SaaS companies globally. You may have already seen "Paddle.com" on a bank statement for another software product - this is a standard setup in the industry.
A Merchant of Record is the legal seller of record for your subscription. Paddle becomes responsible for:
This model is standard across SaaS - companies like Notion, Webflow, and Loom use similar arrangements. It means fastforex.io can offer full tax compliance for customers in the EU, UK, Australia, and beyond without any extra work on your end.
Card / bank statement: Your card or bank statement will show "Paddle.com* Fastforex" instead of "Fastforex.io" for fastforex.io charges. This is expected - it is not a new charge.
Receipts and invoices: Invoices will now be issued by Paddle. They are fully compliant, downloadable, and available in the Paddle billing portal at www.paddle.net
Tax handling: If you are in a country where digital services tax applies (EU VAT, UK VAT, Australian GST, etc.), Paddle calculates and remits tax automatically. Business customers can enter a VAT number to qualify for B2B zero-rating or reverse charge VAT.
Payment methods: Paddle supports major credit/debit cards and PayPal.
Q: When does this change take effect? A: The transition to Paddle happens on 27th April 2026 for new customers. Existing customers will be migrated over the coming weeks.
Q: Do I need to do anything? A: No. Your subscription migrates to Paddle automatically. You will not need to re-enter payment details or create a new account, unless you have a PayPal subscription. Don't worry - we'll contact our PayPal subscribers, separately when you need to change over.
Q: Will my API access be interrupted? A: No. Your API key continues to work without interruption before, during, and after the transition.
Q: Why does my card or bank statement say "Paddle.com* Fastforex"? A: Paddle is our billing partner and Merchant of Record. When they process your subscription, the charge appears as "Paddle.com* Fastforex". This is standard for SaaS businesses using a billing platform. It is not a duplicate charge.
Q: Will my subscription price change? A: Our prices are not changing but local tax may have to be added on top of it depending where your business is registered and if we have your tax number on file. You can update your tax details in the console; console.fastforex.io/billing/overview
Q: I'm in the EU / UK / Australia. Will I now be charged VAT or GST? A: Paddle applies local taxes where legally required - including EU VAT, UK VAT, Australian GST, and others. Tax is added on top of the subscription price where applicable. If you are a business, you can enter your VAT number in the billing portal to qualify for B2B zero-rating (reverse-charge for EU/UK). Enter you tax details here; console.fastforex.io/billing/overview. You can find out more about Countries, sales tax / VAT here and VAT number formatting here.
Q: I need a VAT invoice. A: VAT invoices are always issued by email. You can also download them from the customer console; console.fastforex.io/billing/overview
Q: I have a Paddle invoice, how do I change my tax number or change a previous invoice? A: No problem! Contact paddle here; www.paddle.net
Q: What if I need a refund? A: Our refund policy is unchanged. Contact [email protected] and we will handle it. Paddle processes the refund on our behalf.
Q: Is my payment data safe? A: Yes. Paddle is PCI-DSS Level 1 certified - the highest level of payment security certification. Your card details are handled entirely by Paddle and are never stored by fastforex.io.
Q: I did not get a migration email. Does this affect me? A: The transition applies to all active fastforex.io subscribers. If you have an active subscription, your billing will migrate to Paddle in May or June 2026 regardless of whether you received an email.
