Welcome to the new fastforex.io
By Chris Maule
Key takeaways
- A rebuilt fastforex.io: clearer pricing, honest provider comparisons and guides for switching to us.
- New pages on our data sources, reliability and security, and how we compare providers.
- Every page is pre-built and served from Cloudflare, scoring at or near 100 in Google Lighthouse.
- New in the API too: over 30 years of metals history, daily, hourly and by the minute, on Premium plans.
- Nothing changes for your integration: same API, same keys, same docs and console.
On this page
Today we've launched a new fastforex.io. We rebuilt the whole site from the ground up so you can find what you need faster: what each plan includes, how we compare with other providers, where our data comes from and how to move your integration over. It's also much quicker, with pages that load almost instantly.
Nothing about the API changes for existing integrations. Your keys, endpoints, docs and console all work exactly as before.
What's new
Metals history, live today
It's not just the website. Metals history is now live in the API: OHLC candles and closing bid/ask for each metals instrument, daily, hourly or by the minute, with daily history from 1995 for most gold and silver instruments. That's over 30 years of history on our Premium plans. See the Metals API or go straight to the docs.
Clearer pricing
The pricing page now shows every plan side by side, with what's included, how often rates update and a full feature comparison underneath. Pick monthly or annual billing and your call volume, and the price updates as you go. Plans still start at $18/month, and every new account gets a free 7-day trial with full access.
Honest comparisons
Choosing an exchange rate API means comparing a lot of small print. Our new comparison pages put fastFOREX API next to nine other providers, line by line: update speed, data depth, limits, pricing and support. Every competitor figure links to its public source with the date we checked it, and we explain how we compare providers so you can check our working.
Migration guides
If you're already using another provider, each comparison links to a migration guide for it, for example moving from Fixer. Every guide maps your current endpoints to ours, shows a response before and after, and lists the differences to watch for. Most moves take under an hour.
Where our data comes from
Data sources explains how we price currencies, with separate pages for crypto and metals. Trust covers reliability, uptime and security, including our 4ms average server response time, shown in the ms field of every response.
Pages for each product
The exchange rate API, FX market data, historical rates, crypto, metals, WebSockets and our MCP server each have their own page, most with a live playground so you can try real requests before you sign up. If gold is what you're after, start with the gold price API.
How we built it
We wanted the website to hold itself to the same standard as the API: fast, dependable and easy to work with.
- Pre-built pages: every page is built ahead of time as plain HTML, so there's no server work when you visit. Pages are served from Cloudflare's global network, close to wherever you are.
- Speed: the page types we test score at or near 100 for performance, accessibility, best practices and SEO in Google Lighthouse.
- Accessibility: every page is checked against the WCAG 2.1 AA standard at desktop and phone widths, with zero issues allowed before a change goes live.
- Security: a strict content security policy means the browser only runs scripts we've approved.
- Checks on every change: before anything goes live, automated checks look for broken links, visual changes, accessibility issues and slower pages.
What you need to do
Nothing. Old links and bookmarks redirect to their new home, and the API, docs and console are unchanged.
